What is The Early Works Project?

The Early Works Project transforms your child's original drawings, paintings, and creations into one-of-a-kind mixed media artwork designed to live beautifully in your home for years to come.

How much does it cost?

Commissions begin at $600 and are priced based on the size and complexity of the project. Once I learn more about your child's artwork and what you're envisioning, I'll recommend the option that's the best fit.

What kind of artwork can I send?

Almost anything.Drawings, paintings, sketches, collages, cut paper, coloring pages, classroom art—even little scraps you can't bear to throw away. The more artwork I have to work with, the better.

Do you use the original artwork?

Yes! I carefully cut, layer, and rework your child's original artwork into a new composition, preserving many of their original marks, brushstrokes, colors, and handwritten details throughout the finished piece. Any remaining artwork is carefully returned unless otherwise requested.

Can you combine artwork from multiple children?

Absolutely. Many families choose to combine artwork from siblings into a single piece.

Can I choose colors or a style?

Yes. Every commission is a collaboration. While your child's artwork naturally influences the color palette and composition, I thoughtfully reinterpret those elements to create a piece that feels sophisticated, cohesive, and at home in your space. We'll also discuss your preferred size, color palette, and overall feel before I begin.

How long does it take?

Most commissions are completed within 4–8 weeks, depending on my studio schedule.

Do I need to live in Nashville?

Not at all. Clients from anywhere in the United States are welcome. Artwork can be shipped to my studio, and the finished piece will be carefully packaged and returned to you.

Will it look exactly like my child's drawing?

Not exactly—and that's the point.Rather than reproducing a drawing, I reinterpret your child's marks, colors, and imagination into an original work of art while preserving the spirit of what made it special.

What makes a great commission?

The most successful commissions begin with 20–50 pieces of artwork spanning different ages, materials, and subjects. The variety gives me the richest palette to work with and allows unexpected details and memories to emerge throughout the finished piece.

Every commission begins with a conversation. I'd love to learn about your family, your child's artwork, and what you're envisioning.
